What will TOP Dental offer for Hygiene Maintainance?

Traditional teeth cleaning involves cleaning each tooth individually, aiming to remove dental plaque and tartar comprehensively. However, during the process, dentists or dental hygienists can typically only see and remove obvious tartar deposits, while plaque in hidden areas may remain undetected.

In recent years, a new technology originating from Switzerland, called Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), has been developed to specifically target dental plaque. This technology includes a plaque staining technique that makes plaque visible by coloring it purple. Following this, a warm water flow at 40°C and a specialized 14-micron erythritol powder are used to effectively remove both plaque and tartar from the tooth surfaces, while also reducing discomfort during the cleaning process.

Is it painful to use the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) teeth cleaning system?

During traditional teeth cleaning, an ultrasonic scaler is commonly used. It generates high-frequency, high-energy vibrations to remove tartar from tooth surfaces. However, when breaking up deep tartar under the gums, this can cause discomfort or pain, especially if the gums are already inflamed. In contrast, the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) can remove plaque from both teeth and gum surfaces without damaging them. For cases with significant or deep tartar, it can be combined with advanced ultrasonic technology.

Q&A:
Patients may experience increased tooth sensitivity after dental cleaning? How can this be addressed?

Q&A:
Who need to inform their dentist before dental cleaning to ensure appropriate adjustments to the procedure

This is a normal reaction. After removing tartar, more of the tooth surface is exposed. In this case, you can use desensitizing toothpaste for a while, or consult with your dentist about applying a fluoride treatment to the tooth surface, which can help alleviate sensitivity.
